We are looking for an ambitious Strategy & Operations Intern to enhance our team and to help us build the next generation of machine learning applications for the healthcare industry.

What we do

Merantix is a pioneering technology lab and incubation platform for Artificial Intelligence that transforms how businesses, healthcare organizations, and governments operate by building products that apply machine intelligence to enterprise datasets. We acquire proprietary datasets that enable promising products, incubate those products and spin-off ventures to scale their growth.

Vara is working on medical imaging and strives to make high-quality diagnostic services accessible and affordable for patients around the world. Vara is bringing state-of-the-art machine learning technology to the healthcare industry and develops products that support radiologists during the diagnosis of various diseases. Thereby, we solve a huge expert scarcity and severe quality issues in radiology worldwide.

The team is made up of entrepreneurs, scientists, and engineers from premier universities around the world. Many of us have PhDs and work experience at top tech companies. We’re based in Europe’s startup capital, Berlin, and are growing quickly!

Your Responsibilities

We are looking for a talented team member, who is eager to disrupt the healthcare industry with AI. You will take full ownership of strategic projects that are aimed at positioning our medical products in the market and will help us execute the operational implementation in a hands-on manner. Your main responsibilities can include the following:

  • Perform market entry/fit and competitive analyses to validate our business approach
  • Convince potential clients and partners to grow our business
  • Help us delivering our product to first pilot customers
  • Manage strategic projects with insurance companies and medical-device OEMs
  • Support fundraising activities (deck, outreach, roadshows, due diligence,...)
  • Research medical deep learning applications and market developments

Your Qualifications

We define ourselves by a culture of ownership and friendship. We’re looking for driven, capable, visionary and thoughtful people with proven track record of personal, academic and professional achievement:

  • Undergraduate degree from a top-­tier university, we accept applications from a variety of academic disciplines; Master degree is a plus.
  • 1-3 years of professional experience at a leading technology/healthcare company, management consultancy or in a similar fast-paced environment is a big plus
  • An analytical mindset and the ability to think critically
  • A deep understanding of the healthcare industry or a strong network of decision makers and executives in the healthcare space is is a plus
  • Long-­held interest in technology and healthcare, both personally & professionally
  • Entrepreneurial drive, willingness to take responsibility, high ambition and the ability to achieve goals collaboratively
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with customers and partners
  • Willingness to travel
